Salmonella enterica spp. and Shigella sonnei Selective Enrichment Broth

Selenite Broth™ is manufactured by Copan and supplied as 2ml of selective enrichment broth. It is specifically designed to selectively enrich Salmonella enterica spp. and Shigella sonnei from clinical specimens, supporting the recovery and subsequent isolation of these enteric pathogens.

Following incubation, samples enriched in Selenite Broth™ can be sub-cultured onto appropriate agar media for further identification and testing. Selenite Broth™ is also compatible with the Copan WASP® automated specimen processing module for both broth inoculation and subsequent sub-culture, supporting automated laboratory workflows.

Suitable for clinical specimens collected using Copan FecalSwab® or submitted as stool specimens.
